Qionghai, August 27, 2024 – A triumphant day for Team corratec – Vini Fantini, with Jakub Mareczko winning the first stage of the Tour of Hainan with a masterful sprint.

The 95 km stage, characterized by a very high pace and numerous attacks, saw the Brescia-born rider display great skill and tenacity, managing his effort perfectly and securing an ideal position in the final kilometers, which allowed him to win at the finish line in Qionghai and become the leader of both the general classification and the points classification.

“I’m thrilled with today’s victory – said Jakub Mareczko immediately after the finish – I knew this stage suited my characteristics, but it wasn’t easy. Being the first stage, the leader’s jersey was also at stake, which created a high level of stress in the peloton, especially in the final stages of the race. I tried to stay covered to save energy for the final sprint, and in the last kilometers, thanks to the great teamwork, I was able to move up and position myself perfectly for the sprint, which I anticipated and won with a clear advantage.”
