Despite the tight pace of the stage, the Roman rider showed remarkable determination, optimizing his energy to the best of his ability and gaining an excellent position in the final stages of the race, which allowed him to achieve this good result and come close to the top ten in the general classification.

“It was definitely a positive Il Giro d’Abruzzo – Conti commented at the end of the fourth stage – Reaching the top ten twice is a very good result. I got a good 9th place today, but I know I could have done better. I felt good, but I misinterpreted the situation thinking that the three outriders would be caught up. Unfortunately, things don’t always go as planned. The same goes for the general classification: I could have aspired to something more, but in the second stage, when the group split, I was surprised and lost valuable time.”
